Lightwave is a perfect software  for modeling with animations and rendering this software has many uses like film, advertisement and television. Due to it's low price compared to other programs such as autodesk Maya, it is popular to a wider audience.

3ds Max

3ds max is perfect for the game industry,its does what Maya can do but for games as well. 3ds max is usually the first choice for gaming companies and is used a lot by the gaming industry. there is a lot of videos on youtube about 3ds max this is helpful for new users and advanced users to use new effects.

Blender is a free 3D modeling program, Its has photo realistic rendering, super fast modeling, very realistic materials,easy sculpting,  Simulations, game creation, camera tracking, a whole library of extensions, video editing and a great to use interface. When getting to learn a new program this is easy due to the sites of  tutorials, this makes it easy  to use.
