HA7 - Mesh Construction

Polygonal Modelling:
Polygon modelling is when a group of polygons are grouped together to create a object ,character or image. The faces usually consist of triangles or quadrilaterals.

This video show the basics of polygon modeling:

Primitive Modelling:
Primitive modeling is when you mesh 3D shapes together like:cubes, spheres, cuboids, cones and more. With these they can be used to create environment much easier with adding different shapes molded together.

This video consist off primitive modeling and how to do it:

Box Modelling:
Box modeling is an easy start for beginners .It involves taking an simple box or primitive shapes and the reshaping and modeling it into a design off your own in flat planes that then makes your model.

This is a video of a box modeling form a box to a life like head:

Extrusion Modelling:
Extrusion modeling is when you cut a 2d image (a triangle) and then copy the cut image into modeling soft ware and using an extrusion tool the 2D image that you cut will become a 3D object (triangle prism)

This video consist of extrusion modeling and how its works:

Sketch Modelling:
Sketch modeling is when you can draw you own model free hand drawing in 2D and then the application converts the 2D drawing into 3D. Anything that is drawn can be converted into 3D to get a real life effect.

This video consist of a drawing of a 2D dinosaur transforming into a 3D  one:

3D Scanners:
A 3D scanner is a machine that analyzes an object and then inputs it onto a computer modeling application. In order to do this the devise or machine scan the object using lazer (light) sensors scaling the whole object to get an accurate image.

This video consist of a 3D scanner in use and what it does:
